    Client Spotlight!

This month`s client of the month is Daniel Arrogante. In just 4 short months he lost 14% bodyfat. That's a fat loss of over 21lbs. Daniel also lost an amazing 5 and a half inches off his waist and added 10lbs of solid muscle. When Daniel started in December he was borderline obese with very little muscle... the complete opposite of what he is now! Daniel is proof that with a little hard work and watching your diet, you can change your body in a very short time. Congratulations Daniel! Enjoy your new body!

    Now Announcing...

In an effort to better serve the needs of our clients, we have added two new pieces of cardio equipment to the studio. We have added a brand new elliptical which eases the stress to the joints that you may feel pounding on the treadmill. Also, a much awaited second treadmill has arrived. It is complete with an adjustable cushioned deck which many clients have already raved about! We encourage all our clients to come in anytime we are open to get your cardio in with us! Also, we have added group training to our list of programs at Body Works. By training in a group with 1 or 2 other people, you can lower the cost of your personal training sessions significantly. Group training is discounted per session in accordance with the number of people you are training with. Training with others can also be a great motivational factor and can give you a competitive boost! Ask your trainer for more information if you are interested.

    Recipe of The Month

    SALMON WITH CITRUS HERB SAUCE

    • INGREDIENTS
    • 2 1/2 cups of water
    • 1 cup brown rice
    • 1/2 cup white wine
    • 1lb salmon steak
    • 2/3 cup orange juice
    • 1/4 cup shallots, minced
    • 1 tsp dried dillweed
    • 1 tsp dried rosemary
    • 1 tsp dried basil
    • 1 tsp mustard powder
    • 1 tsp lemon pepper
    • DIRECTIONS
    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan, bring water and rice to a boil. Stirring, reduce heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
    • In a large pan, add enough water just to cover bottom of pan. Stir in the white wine. Lay the salmon fillet in the pan, pink side up. Place the cooked rice around the fish.
    • Pour the orange juice over the fish and rice.
    • In a small bowl, combine shallots and all herbs and then sprinkle over fish and rice.
    • Cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until fish is flaky.

    Are You Getting Enough Exercise?

Only one in four U.S. adults get the past recommended amount of daily exercise, which is 30 minutes of moderate activity on most days of the week, or 20 minutes of vigorous activity three days per week. Only one in eight Americans gets the new recommendations of five hours of exercise per week for a healthy lifestyle. Even worse: Nearly one in three Americans admits they don't exercise at all. The culprits? High-stress jobs and an abundance of sedentary distractions, such as cable television and the Internet, according to some experts. Americans today live a life of convenience relying on take out and fast foods for many of their meals. Unfortunately, these trends are rubbing off on our youth leading to a dramatically rising childhood obesity rate. Sandra Ham, a statistician with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), believes Americans see exercise as an inconvenience, an attitude which is closely linked to inactivity and obesity, which kills 180,000 Americans each year. And that number is rising. Many Americans understand what it takes and acknowledge the rising obesity rates. However, too few still are willing to put the effort forth to live a healthy lifestyle. It all begins with simple exercise and a clean healthy diet! Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, www.cdc.gov. Findings based on random telephone surveys conducted in 43 states between 1990 and 1998.

    WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

I have been with Body Works for about six months and every month I have had positive results toward my goal. You might think, "Why are you still with them?" Or "Can't you do this on your own?" For me, Body Works, provides a positive, motivating, and energetic atmosphere, where I feel I can reach my goals of physical fitness. They listen, encourage... okay push me. They make me feel I can do better.
